RISING SENIORS
Purpose:
To encourage seniors to read a minimum of four books over the summer, one will be the assigned Upper School summer book, the others will be from the list provided on this Wiki. Students are strongly encouraged to read more books of their choice and simply let Mrs. Bonnyman know what you are reading. Enjoy the interactive web site listed below to boost your vocabulary. Rising seniors should practice a minimum of five tests a week in the Princeton Review SAT or PSAT workbook.

Books
1 .Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. This is a fascinating look at all kinds of people; why some people excel and the circumstances that characterize their stories of success.
2. An Hour Before Daylight
by Jimmy Carter. Our former president tells the story of his boyhood. This is a great story, and everyone from Georgia should read it anyway.
3. An Ordinary Man by Paul Rusesabagina. If you saw the movie "Hotel Rowanda," this is that story written by the main character. He was the manager of the luxurious hotel Milles Collines when the 1994 genocide happened in Rwanda. He bravely sheltered over 1,200 Tutsi and Hutu refugees. This book has been chosen as a Rome community read, and the author will speak this fall
4. The assigned Upper School summer book
